SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO) Specialist
SEO Specialist are marketing professionals who use research and analysis to improve a website's ranking on search engines (main emphasis is Google). They find the most popular and relevant keywords used in search engine queries and insert them into websites, optimizing web pages / landing pages for organic search results. An SEO Specialist continually performs keyword research to ID new marketing opportunities.
SEO Specialists become experts in writing metatags that are identified by “BOTS”, which comb the back end of the websites for indexing purposes. In addition, SEO Specialists will have in-depth experience A/B and multivariant testing as well as with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends) and bid management tools (e.g., Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ignite). SEO Specialists also manage content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks. (i.e. Google, Bing) to maximize ROI.
Educational Requirements: 99.9% of companies will ask for a Bachelors degree and many will state “Masters” or “Masters preferred”.
