As most of my friends and colleagues are aware, I operate a resume writing business in SF. This is after a successful career as a marketer in publishing. However, I have always believed in job diversification, meaning I always had "side stuff" going (private party bartending, statistician for live sporting events - NFL, NBA, NCAA). I was actually interviewed about this subject and the content was used in a special feature in print and digital formats.
Recently, a valued colleague who works in the broadcasting industry said to me. In sum, when a great freelance opportunity opens up, never pause, take it. He said this more eloquently than I wrote but the point was clear.
In this crazy economy and job market, keep this in mind. I did years ago and it worked well for me. It is a great perspective to have.
