Job Hugging

 As opposed to the last posting that bashed LinkedIn News, they seem to have gotten this one correct:

++++++++++++++++++++

Forget job-hopping. 2025 is the year of job-hugging.

Workers are clinging to their jobs like a toddler with a blanket—mostly out of fear. Quits are at decade lows, hiring has cooled, and uncertainty (economic, political, global… you name it) has people holding still.

Uncertainty is everywhere, slowed hiring, higher rates, CEOs planning cuts. It makes sense that people are staying put. But while stability feels safe, it can quietly cost: lost wage growth, fewer opportunities to stretch, and the risk of stagnating right where you stand.

However, everything runs in cycles and the pace of all the changes we have seen in the last 180+ days will slow. Better times in the job market are coming.

Stay well-read and focused - good opportunities will open up for those who continue to network and educate themselves.
