The Black Hole

According to Greenhouse, a leading providing of recruiting software for businesses of all sizes, the average job opening received 242 applications in Q3— 3x 2017 totals, when the unemployment rate was at a comparable level. That means that when someone submits a resume today, the candidate has a 0.4% chance of actually getting the job. (That's just for the average job. At the big-name employers, the odds are even worse.)

In short, applying to a job in 2025 blindly (definition: through uploading the resume into a web interface) really is the statistical equivalent of hurling your resume into a black hole.

THIS JUST STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF NETWORKING!!!!
