Volunteer Work

I am not an advocate of adding volunteer work to your resume unless the information is either career-specific or is used to fill in a gap.  If you are adding the volunteer work because of a gap in career history, be sure to state your volunteerism was done during a period of unemployment and stress the skills / tasks that are related to your position.
