Salary Negotiation - Getting a raise comparable to your worth is hard enough given the way companies treat employees. Most companies still treat the overwhelming amount of employees as a commodity (sounds cruel but it is true). Therefore, if you are going to enter a negotiation, showcase your value and skills and not complain how teritary factors (gasoline, inflation) are affecting your quality of life. Your employer will listen to arguments about your performance, not about the price of ground meat at Whole Foods.
