Salary Negotation

Before you begin a negotiation, do your homework.  Do some research on the salary for comparable positions in the region that you will be working, understand all of the job responsibilities as well as the nuances of the industry, the "supply" v "demand" factors of the position and job market as well as the value of your skills, contacts and educations.  Utilized this information to properly showcase your value and defend your stance concerning the level of compensation you desire.
