Salary Negotiation
The most difficult thing in any negotiation, almost, is making sure that you strip it of the emotion and deal with the facts.” – Howard Baker
Do not make the negotiation personal. Stay with the facts. Present your case based on achievements and business traits (leadership, mentorship, collaboration) and not based on longevity, entitlement, working long hours. Frankly speaking, if you think you desire a raise based on longevity, the company is telling you that it may be time to look for another job.
