What is job hopping?

1. Holding numerous jobs for less than two (2) years.

Job hopping on the rise.Why job-hop?

1. #1 reason - better compensation

2. Toxic Work Environment

3. Employees feel less loyalty to companies as they feel companies feel less loyalty to employees

4. When employees are working in robust job markets, they wish to leverage their opportunity

5. If the employee is playing the stock option game, the feeling is that they can capitalize on successful M&A, IPOs, etc.

Negatives:

1. Employers want stable workers

2. Employers do not want to hire again for the same position in two years.

Recruiters (and resume writers like myself) will tell you that there comes a time when you become a less attractive candidate as a result of having too many short-term positions.
