NETWORKING - - - You must
network to find the right opportunities.
“The front door is locked;
shut tight and it appears that nobody is home or available to answer. I am
going through the back or side door. If I do not, I am not going to find
the best job opportunities.” - Anonymous
The "front door"
is defined as the job boards (Indeed, Glassdoor and LinkedIn's "Easy
Apply" feature). It is a black hole - you rarely hear back (lucky
to get a 3% response (not interview rate, just a response)...the reliance
on applicant tracking systems (ATS, artificial intelligence (AI) and other tech
tools is an ineffective strategy for your job search..
The "back door" is
speaking to people (colleagues, vendors, friends, classmates, etc.) - this
is your network.
Get the picture?
You must NETWORK to find
the best opportunities.
