Following Your Passion  in Your Career (esp. at early stages) - Not Always a Great Idea

Turning your passion into your job or building a career based on a passion is not recommended.  Not only is there the chance ruining the exact things that bring you joy but it also allows other factors, including underemployment, underpaid, working longer hours and then, when asking for increased compensation, getting denied and guilted because you asked for more given that you are doing something you "love".  Also, passion is not the equivalent to professional competence - two separate subjects that many people often confuse.
