Thank you notes

I write thank you notes on a regular basis.  Here are a couple of fundamentals that you need to abide by:
  1. Keep it short (2 paragraphs tops)
  2. Mention 1 - 2 key points of the meeting that will resonate with the hiring manager
  3. Thank he / she for their time
  4. Indicate your level of interest (remember - "No" is not a bad word.  Therefore, if you are not interested, then let the hiring manager know.  You will be respected for being honest and forthright - can pay dividends down the road.
