How to Flunk Your Phone Interview

Now that phone interviews have become the norm, candidates need to understand that the phone conversation should be treated as an integral step and not be viewed in a cavalier manner.

Therefore, I advise all of my clients, when speaking with a recruiter or potential employer on the phone, it's best take the call on a land line instead of a cell phone. Nothing is worse, especially for your blood pressure, to have your call "dropped". Cell phone technology has changed our lives but it is imperfect.

Be conservative and find a land line for these calls.
