he hospitality trade is not coming back in regions where commercial real estate for rentals remain high, minimum wage far exceeds past pay rates in the industry as well as where employees must commute long distances. This does not even factor in business models where tipping is either split across the entire house (re: socialism) or all the staff is on salary.
Therefore, read the article but with the understanding that the issues are more broad and complex.
