Starting Your Job Search...Experienced or New Grads - Read this

I know the market is challenging but I strongly recommend that you stick to the fundamentals so you manage your search properly.

Now that you are starting your search, the three (3) tips below should be useful:

1. Network!  Think of the people you know -- relatives, friends, professors, classmates, co-workers and others. Make more of an effort to meet with people, and use these conversations to ask their advice, to make

them aware of your job search, to learn more about their jobs or their organizations, and to get the names of others who might be useful in your job search.

2. Create a contact database. Write down all the employers you contact, the date you sent your résumé, any contact made,

people you talk to, and notes about those contacts. Write / type notes as soon as you hear about an opportunity or when you leave an interview. Get into the habit of updating your database daily.

3. Make a "to do" list every day. This will help you organize your list of priorities and keep you focused on finding that perfect job.

This is not a student / campus club. Most occupations, from restaurant professionals, marketing, software engineers, project managers, etc have professional associations with most offering special rates for students / new graduates.

Be active on the website, read the newsletter, attend virtual / in-person meetings and seminars. Your engagement will help you learn the industry lingo as well as product / service advancements.

Engagement will help you network with members who know of the opportunities their respective companies are offering. In sum, this is about networking! NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORD.

Information for Students Seeking to Begin Their Careers

To all the recent grads - congratulations!  All of you have endured the challenges of a COVID-19 education in the 15 months.  I admire the perseverance!

The three (3) tips below should be useful:
