For the rest of this year, all of my posts will be about job titles and definitions of each title. Sounds boring, perhaps it is. But I will tell you that job titles are important and it is a difference maker in terms of pay, upward mobility, authority, prestige and more.
All of you need to be aware of what a job title truly means.
PROCUREMENT MANAGER
A procurement manager is responsible for ensuring that their business purchases the goods and services that will best help them achieve their goals. Generally, that means finding suppliers (local, overseas or both) that strike a balance between quality and cost. The position requires extensive interaction with multiple demands, involves budgeting, negotiation, setting up delivery timelines and coordination of multiple purchasing initiatives to ensure that any delays in production and product / service rollout are minimal.
